Data Enterprises of the Northwest was established nearly 40 years ago. Our staff has the combined experience of over 60 years in the software industry, with some programmers having been with DEN for over 30 years. We are a privately held company dominating the tool inventory tracking and control market for both large and small tool crib users. We are currently updating our web site, logos and sales and marketing materials to better reflect Data Enterprises’ long history and vast experience with tool control management.
In 1975, DEN introduced one of the first bar code systems to a retail store, writing a software application that worked with bar codes. That was the precursor to today’s ATICTS.
In the late 1970’s, Todd Shipyards approached Data Enterprises with a challenge: eliminate wasted employee hours caused by having to wait in line at their tool crib before and after each shift. In response, DEN developed the Automated Tool Inventory Control and Tracking System (ATICTS) in 1980 and installed it at Todd, with amazing cost-saving and time-saving results.
By 1984, DEN had created such a demand for tool tracking software that we made the decision to focus solely on ATICTS software.
We oversee installation, including programming for importation from existing databases, on-site training for software users, and 5 day a week technical support.
